A Different Approach to Vacation Fitness

Jan 9, 2014

A vacation can be a very convenient excuse for those of us looking to temporarily slack on our health and fitness regimens. Who wants to log time on the treadmill when there’s so much to do and see? Unless exercising is integrated into and enhances the overall vacation experience, who needs it?

It’s a valid point, and one that Auberge Resorts (always focused on the “total experience”) has answered with innovative, destination-specific wellness programming that lets guests truly be on vacation while breaking a sweat and eating clean. These programs can intersect seamlessly with other vacation activities, making it easier than ever to stay fit.

Take Esperanza Resort for example. Guest can participate in unique, complimentary offerings including:

  • Fitness classes taught by visiting expert instructors
  • Regularly scheduled yoga classes, including kids’ yoga
  • Regularly scheduled cooking classes, including vegetarian cooking classes
  • Seasonal vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free menus at the resort’s signature restaurant, Cocina del Mar

The Auberge Trainer-in-Residence Program mentioned above is a real favorite. It features renowned guest fitness and yoga instructors from top private health clubs and studios in the U.S. Guests can enjoy complimentary group beach boot camps, TRX training, yoga and zumba classes from expert instructors, including Dirk Schultz of Aspen Club, (Aspen, Colo.); Donovan Almond of Solage Calistoga (Calistoga, Calif.); Tracie and Chris Vlaun of V Art of Wellness (Miami, Fla.); and teachers from Equinox and Core Power Yoga™.

Whatever your fitness level or health goals, there’s a program and level of involvement that’s just right for you. Your excuse just became a little less convenient, but we hope you don’t mind!
