Auberge Resorts Collection Announces VieVage Los Cabos

A Relaxed, Modern Resort to Arrive on the Best Beach in Los Cabos

MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (December 16, 2014) – Auberge Resorts Collection, internationally acclaimed owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs, today announced it will manage VieVage Los Cabos, an intimate new beachfront resort currently in development on a treasured stretch of beachfront on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. This will be the second property under Auberge’s new VieVage Hotels and Resorts lifestyle hospitality brand, which was introduced in June 2014. Poised to bring a vibrant, new resort experience to Los Cabos, the development’s Phase 1 will feature a boutique luxury resort with guest suites and contemporary beach villas for a total of 92 accommodations. The resort, nestled within the 1,200-acre Chileno Bay master development, will appeal to sophisticated travelers who appreciate a casual and active lifestyle, connecting with family and friends in an inviting, modern setting. The development is a partnership between SV Capital Partners and Red Group.

“With a collection that already includes the award-wining Esperanza resort, highly regarded as one of the premiere, ultra-luxury resorts in Cabo San Lucas, we now have the unique opportunity to create an entirely new Baja resort experience that complements Esperanza while also being completely different,” said Craig Reid, Chief Executive Officer, Auberge Resorts Collection. “Our new VieVage brand offers a youthful, casual approach for travelers who seek adventure at home and beyond, with well-designed spaces, impeccable service, exciting local cuisine and world-class amenities.”

The VieVage Los Cabos experience will revolve around the beach that is renowned as the best in Cabo for its calm, swimmable waters, natural reef and family-friendly tide pools.  In this idyllic setting where the desert meets the sea, endless opportunities for relaxation and recreation range from water activities including surfing, paddle boarding and snorkeling, to land adventures such as hiking or golf at the new Tom Fazio-designed golf course that is already being hailed as one of his best.

“We are excited to be part of Chileno Bay and VieVage Los Cabos, as this coastal stretch of Los Cabos enjoys a storied history and has the most beautiful beaches in Baja,” said Mark Harmon, Founder and Managing Partner, Auberge Resorts Collection. “We look forward to creating a relaxed and active vacation getaway at this incomparable location.”

Designed by Glazier Le Architecture of Burlingame, Calif., with interior design from BAMO of San Francisco, the contemporary “baja” suites and villas at VieVage Los Cabos effortlessly embody the relaxed, effortless living that is authentic to the region. The elegant modern structures maximize ocean views and indoor-outdoor living, all within a coastal-cool design aesthetic that complements the surrounding landscape. The interior design offers organic modernism with an edge and features fine craftsmanship and bespoke furnishings including wood-slab table tops with live edges, light fixtures crafted from found objects, earthy, natural materials and original art.

Amenities at VieVage Los Cabos will include a 138-meter, centerpiece pool complex with multiple levels, an oceanfront hot tub and fire pits. The main restaurant will offer artisanal cuisine in a relaxed setting under the stars, while a bevy of additional amenities will include a new Tom Fazio-designed golf course, an extensive spa, fitness center and movement studio, kids club, private residents’ lounge, and h2O Cave that serves as the resort’s watersports center.

Auberge Resorts Collection to Manage Nanuku Resort & Spa in Fiji

MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (November 13, 2014) – Auberge Resorts Collection, owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs, announced today plans to manage Nanuku Resort and Spa, an ultra-luxury boutique resort that opened in March on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu, and rebrand it Nanuku Auberge Resort Fiji http://nanukufiji.com/. The resort is owned by Bixby Bridge Capital, a Chicago-based real estate investment firm. Nanuku, the newest and most luxurious hospitality offering in Fiji, is acclaimed for its blend of contemporary luxury and traditional Fijian culture, its sense of outdoor adventure and highly personalized service.

    auberge-resorts-nanuku-fiji

“We are delighted to bring the Auberge brand to the Fiji Islands,” said Craig T. Reid, President and Chief Executive Officer, Auberge Resorts Collection. “This gem of a South Sea resort embraces all of the Auberge hallmarks: sensational locale, exceptional service and cuisine and guest experiences that inspire a sense of discovery. It is a natural partnership and an exciting addition to the Auberge Resorts Collection portfolio.”

A sanctuary for relaxation and discovery set on two of the island’s best beaches, Nanuku offers 18 Balinese-style suite and villa accommodations furnished with relaxed contemporary and Fijian décor and featuring expansive decks, private plunge pools and ocean views. Nanuku’s Club House is the private hub for resort guests and boasts beautifully landscaped gardens and sea views through a colonnade of handcrafted Fijian decorated posts. The chic Lomana Spa and Wellness Centre includes a fitness center (with personal trainer on standby), a hair salon, the Lailai Children’s Club, and a guest library. Guests may learn skills from local artisans in the Cakava Creative Workshop, from grass skirt weaving to tapa printing. The Kanavata Restaurant and Lounge Bar looks out across an infinity pool to an azure lagoon framed by coconut palms. The Sunset Deck is located poolside, and the Wai Pool Bar serves tropical drinks (including the resort’s legendary Nanuku caprioskas) infused with local ingredients.

The resort’s “Villa Mamas” (the term nods to the easy-going Fijian culture) provide thoughtful care for each guest, serving as a hybrid between a housekeeper and butler. Every family has a dedicated nanny. Attentive staff extends to the property’s food and beverage outlets, where guests may opt for a pre-arranged gourmet picnic on the beach or an alfresco barbeque by the pool. Each evening, the executive chef prepares a three-course menu crafted from the freshest of local and imported produce, resulting in a fabulous fusion of international and Fijian dishes.

Pacific Harbour is known as the Adventure Capital of Fiji, where world-class surfing and fishing are just a few feet from the villas’ doorsteps. Guests of Nanuku are privy to a host of activities from stand-up river rafting to hiking through the rainforest. One of the many adventures available at Nanuku is a waterfall hike, where guests may experience Fiji’s lush interior with a medicine man, who points out tidbits on the various local plants and traditional food-gathering techniques.

Nanuku’s Vunikau (Treehouse) Residence is perched atop a volcanic outcrop and overlooks the tranquil Beqa Lagoon. Made up of four suites, the Vunikau Residence is comprised of the Penthouse Suite and three Vunikau Suites, which can be used exclusively or on a stand-alone basis. Each Vunikau Suite is separately keyed and has private access off a shared breezeway.

Plans for Nanuku include a limited number of private beachfront residences that will be developed and offered for purchase. Each Nanuku Ocean Estates residence will be oriented toward the shore to capture ocean breezes and panoramic views.

This is a rare opportunity in Fiji, where just 9 percent of the land is available for private residential ownership. When designed and constructed to Auberge standards, the villas may be included in Nanuku’s rental program and Auberge Resorts’ home-exchange program

Nanuku offers its own private airstrip and is a 20-minute scenic flight from Nadi Airport. Upon landing, guests are transferred by private car to the resort a few minutes away.

Rates at Nanuku begin at $756 and include all meals, villa mama and nanny service, golf buggy, Wifi, non-motorized water sports, daily-hosted drinks and canapés and more.  For more information, visit http://nanukufiji.com/ or call +679 345 2100.

Malliouhana, the Caribbean’s Brightest Star, Reopens as an Auberge Resort Following A Three-Year Closure and 18-Month Renovation

ANGUILLA, B.V.I., (November 3, 2014)Auberge Resorts Collection, internationally renowned owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs, has re-launched and rebranded the former Malliouhana Hotel & Spa as Malliouhana, an Auberge Resort, following a three-year closure, acquisition by AJ Capital Partners and an 18-month end-to-end redesign. The celebrated Caribbean resort, located on a bluff overlooking Meads Bay and Turtle Cove on the island of Anguilla, re-opened its doors on Saturday, November 1, exactly 30 years after its initial debut in 1984, when it quickly became the go-to luxury hideaway for the international jet set.

“Malliouhana has an incredible legacy in the Caribbean, and it has been a thrill to revitalize such an iconic resort,” said Craig Reid, Chief Executive Officer, Auberge Resorts Collection. “Previous guests will notice a new style of relaxed sophistication from the moment they arrive. We believe that Auberge’s reinterpretation perfectly captures the spirit of Anguilla with depth and beauty. We have brought something very new and fresh to the Caribbean.”

Auberge Resorts Collection looked to two of the hospitality industry’s hottest design talents, TAL Studio and SB Architects, to refresh the resort’s design and décor, while Auberge’s own award-winning culinary, spa and operations teams reimagined the guest experience to appeal to today’s discerning traveler. A tropical oasis with 360-degree views of the Caribbean Sea, the transformed Malliouhana raises the bar for luxury in the Caribbean with its 44 spacious ocean-view rooms and suites, a dramatic open-air cliff-side restaurant, two new infinity-edge swimming pools and a signature Auberge Spa.

The design team removed walls and opened up vistas to create a visual connection to the sea that surrounds guests from the moment they arrive. The fresh new color palette of mint, mango, saffron and white is inspired by the Caribbean sensibility and the effect of the water on Anguilla’s sugar-white sand. The theme of sky and sea is doubled in the lobby, where celadon interiors are reflected in a mirrored mosaic floor. The former reception desk has been replaced with two individual concierge desks, each topped with a ceramic sculpture of a Caribbean woman that has been commissioned for Malliouhana as a spirited tribute to Caribbean beauty.

Guest accommodations have the collected feel of a stylish Caribbean residence owned by a glamorous world traveler. Chinoiserie and British Colonial pieces complement early 20th century deco and rattan seating. An oversized mirror anchors each guest room and cleverly hides the television. Guest rooms also showcase some of Malliouhana’s original treasures: a collection of animated jungle scenes depicting the Garden of Eden and painted by distinguished Haitian artist Jasmin Joseph.

Accommodations offer 720 to 2,500 square feet of indoor/outdoor living space and feature Auberge Resorts Collection’s signature amenities, from Nespresso coffee makers and complimentary snacks and beverages to luxury linens, microfiber robes and artisan bath products custom blended for Malliouhana in the resort’s bespoke lemongrass scent.

Renowned in the Caribbean for its superb legacy of fine dining, The Restaurant at Malliouhana features an updated open-air space in its exquisite bluff-top setting. Under the direction of new Executive Chef Jeremy Bearman, formerly executive chef of five-time Michelin-starred Rouge Tomate in New York City and L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas, the re-envisioned restaurant features a contemporary American menu that embraces Caribbean traditions and flavors, such as jerk spices, passion fruit, tamarind and guava.

Bearman has marshalled an extraordinary network of local growers and purveyors and an in-house team that includes two pastry chefs to design the new culinary program at Malliouhana. From the new European-style kitchen, with its separate butcher and fish stations and pastry, chocolate and ice cream areas, the restaurant offers a level of cuisine that departs from typical resort fare. Though classically trained, Bearman favors healthful preparations that bring flavors forward. “I love to work with classic yet authentic flavors and ingredients of an individual region and twist them into a more modern American preparation,” he said.  “This allows me to transport guests to a specific place through flavor while not just giving them the common classic dish.”

Specialties include: House-Made Pasta with Spiny Lobster and Sea Urchin Butter; Tamarind- Glazed Duck with Cornbread and Coconut Butter; Lobster and Conch Pizza; Curried Goat with Basmati Rice, Pigeon Peas, Roasted Plantains and Sweet Potato Purée. For dessert: Tropical Fruits with House-Made Coconut Yogurt and Black Sesame; Lemon Pot De Crème; Horchata Cookie and Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sandwiches; and Curry Ice Cream. The restaurant also features an extensive wine list, an Auberge hallmark. Additionally, guest chefs and interactive culinary explorations will be offered throughout the year as part of Auberge Resort’s popular Food of Place program.

Adjacent to the restaurant is the Sunset Bar, an indoor-outdoor lounge that takes full advantage of its location on the most scenic vantage point on the island. Offering a selection of more than 40 rum varieties, the bar also features island-inspired cocktails, such as a coconut martini with house-made elderflower water, a traditional daiquiri made with coconut and passion fruit and a menu of small plates as well as a selection of fine cigars, all accompanied by nightly live music and stunning sunsets nightly.

Set in an intimate tropical garden setting, the two-story Auberge Spa sits next to two ponds and a jungle of island vines and exotic flowering plants. Exuding a luxurious residential ambiance, the villa-style spa features four private treatment rooms, regionally inspired therapies, an outdoor meditation garden and a relaxation lounge. Decorative wooden oars line the walls at the spa’s front doors, and a palette of blue, white and sand reflect the seaside setting. With treatments rooted in local healing traditions, the spa offers relaxing results-oriented skin care and rejuvenating body therapies to soothe and pamper guests. Treatments integrate island grown, organic and natural ingredients such as aloe and lemongrass, and custom house-made delights including a made-to-order sweet sugar cane body scrub, aloe mousse for après sun skincare and a banana rum masque for deeply nourishing haircare.

After they are greeted with chilled lemongrass towels and the elixir of the day, spa guests can opt to create custom oil blends for their massages at the Aroma Design Bar. Signature treatments include Coconut Dream, a customized aromatic and therapeutic compress and massage incorporating the sun-kissed Malliouhana sand, coconut and a hint of passion fruit; Island Drift, a trio of a tropical Caribbean rum foot soak, sweet sugar cane body exfoliation and a coconut crème massage; and Sol Salvation, a hydrating wrap using a freshly made chilled aloe mousse and an aloe-lemon refresher elixir. Guests are invited to extend their spa experience and enjoy the ocean breeze in hammocks post-treatment in the open-air meditation garden set in an alcove of white and orange-flowered geiger and ficus trees.

Guests preferring to soak up the sun will have ample opportunity at Malliouhana’s two new swimming pools. The heart of the resort, the two new infinity-edge pools are generously sized for a 44-room resort, allowing both couples and families the luxury of space to lounge and dine poolside. More active guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including yoga on the beach, biking, kayaking, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, sailing, windsurfing and paddle boarding, as well as tennis and horseback riding. Personal trainers are also available.

Rates at Malliouhana start at $525 per night. The resort is celebrating its reopening with special introductory packages such as “Island Debut,” “Warm Up Your Winter” and “Retreat To Romance.” For more information or to book, guests may call 1-866-282-3743 or visit malliouahana.aubergeresorts.com.

Auberge Resorts Collection to Manage Landmark Residential Project on Fort Lauderdale Beachfront

MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (October 30, 2014) – Auberge Resorts Collection, award-winning operators of exceptional resorts, clubs and residences, today announced its first project in Florida: Auberge Beach Residences and Spa Fort Lauderdale. The first project of its kind in Fort Lauderdale, the 171-unit beachfront condominium property will be the only on-the-sand luxury residential offering in the destination. Florida’s premier developers, The Related Group and Fortune International Group, in partnership with The Fairwinds Group of Fort Lauderdale, have appointed Auberge to oversee every aspect of the lifestyle at what will be the most refined project of its kind in Fort Lauderdale history.

“Our presence in Florida represents the continued evolution of Auberge Resorts Collection as a luxury brand that redefines resort and residential experiences in the world’s most desirable destinations,” said Craig Reid, Chief Executive Officer, Auberge Resorts Collection. “We are delighted to collaborate with Florida’s most prestigious development team and bring our signature style of luxury to what will be a market-making project on this stretch of Florida’s Gold Coast.”

Auberge Beach Residences Fort Lauderdale will be developed on the best beachfront site in the destination, a 4.6-acre parcel that is the former home to Ireland’s Inn Beach Resort. Housed in two iconic structures, the condominium residences will be characterized by a façade of cascading terraces, many with private pools. The 171 residences will range in size from 1,500 to 5,000 square feet and will all have sweeping ocean views. Prices will range from $1.5 million to $8 million.

“Auberge Beach Residences and Spa Fort Lauderdale will offer the same style of bespoke personal experience that is found at all our other resorts and clubs,” said Dan Friedkin, Chairman, Auberge Resorts. “This experience has earned Auberge an incredibly loyal and affluent clientele. We believe that the time and the market are right for a residential project of this caliber. It will be a perfect addition to the Auberge Resorts Collection.”

Internationally recognized architectural firm Nichols, Brosch, Wurst, Wolf & Associates, which has designed Miami condominium projects for The Related Group and Fortune International Group, as well as South Florida luxury hotels such as Marriott Marquis Miami World Center, W Hotel & Residences Miami Beach and The Ritz-Carlton Resort & Residences Key Biscayne, has envisioned two light-filled glass towers that will maximize the project’s rare on-the-beach setting and panoramic views with a resort-like ambiance. Departing from South Beach contemporary and traditional designs, the 171-residence property will strike a natural balance with a visual aesthetic that is soft and organic, but also sophisticated and luxurious.

Meyer Davis, an award-winning New York-based design firm whose portfolio includes 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach, W Hotel Mexico City and Capri Hotel Southampton, is designing the interior spaces with a relaxed, yet elegant, beach-chic vibe that honors the serene coastal landscape.

Complementing the private elegance of the residences will be the beachfront private club-style amenities, including an indoor-outdoor lounge and restaurant, an Auberge Spa, meeting rooms, children’s center, swimming pools and gardens, all located at ground level to seamlessly connect the lifestyle to the beach and the community. The signature restaurant will be a lively American bistro concept with a raw bar and an exceptional wine program, a hallmark of Auberge Resorts Collection, whose roots run deep in Napa Valley. Dining and lounging will take place poolside and on spacious decks for long evenings with friends and family under the stars. With indoor-outdoor treatment rooms and a generously sized fitness center, the world-class Auberge Spa is poised to become the ultimate relaxation destination.

Further enhancing the world-class residential experience will be an impressive contemporary art collection in the common areas that will include thoughtfully curated, exceptional pieces from Jorge Pérez of The Related Group, an avid collector of Latin American art who, in 2013, established the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM).

Every detail of the lifestyle at Auberge Beach Residences and Spa Fort Lauderdale will be impeccably managed by Auberge Resorts Collection, one of the most sought-after luxury brands in the hospitality industry, with an unmatched reputation for personalized service, Michelin-starred dining and award-winning spas. Auberge Resorts Collection to Manage Luxury Hotel and Residence Project In Idaho’s Fabled Sun Valley Resort

MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (August 13, 2014) – Auberge Resorts Collection, award-winning owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs, today announced that it has signed a deal to operate a planned boutique luxury hotel and penthouse residential development in historic downtown Ketchum, Idaho, the commercial and cultural heart of the legendary Sun Valley Resort. The first new lodging project to be built in the region since the early 1990s, it will be the first ultra-luxury property in greater Sun Valley, America’s original mountain resort.

The 155,000-square-foot mixed-use project will comprise 62 hotel rooms and 14 residences, a full-service restaurant and bar, spa and fitness facilities and technology-driven meeting and conference space, in addition to other amenities. The hotel’s project owner and sponsor, Trail Creek Fund, LLC, is led by Ketchum-based Managing Member Jack Bariteau, developer behind prominent residential and mixed-use real estate projects in Ketchum, including The Shops and Residences at the Colonnade, The Christiania Building and 600 Second Street East.

“Sun Valley has the enviable legacy of being the first winter destination resort in America, and it has a rich history as a magnet for residents and affluent guests from both coasts,” said Craig Reid, CEO, Auberge Resorts Collection. “It’s a vibrant year-round destination that has been under-serviced by the luxury hotel market. We believe that Sun Valley is a perfect destination for the Auberge brand, with its focus on crafted luxury, engaging guest experiences and unique adventure programs.”

“My family has a long history of visiting Sun Valley, and I have a deep appreciation for its scenic beauty and character,” said Mark Harmon, Founder and Managing Partner, Auberge Resorts. “I couldn’t be more delighted with this opportunity to help create a resort that will showcase the personality of Sun Valley and introduce this special place to new generations of families.”

“This is a momentous announcement for the Sun Valley marketplace and a mutual long-term commitment to excellence,” said Bariteau. “Our affiliation with Auberge Resorts will have an enormously positive game-changing impact on Sun Valley. While we considered many four- and five-star hotel operators for this project, Auberge’s reputation for creating exceptional luxury hotels is unmatched in the industry, and it’s especially meaningful that the team has a personal connection to Sun Valley. We’re confident that this project will further support Sun Valley’s reputation as an iconic all-seasons American resort destination. The Auberge commitment, following on the heels of new regional non-stop service on Delta from Salt Lake City and on United from San Francisco and Denver directly into the Sun Valley Airport, provides unparalleled ease of access to both coasts. There are now more than 30,000 new seats annually, with more to come.”

Located in a historically significant neighborhood at the gateway entrance to downtown Ketchum, the hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance to the town’s diverse attractions, advanced high-speed lift and gondola access to Bald Mountain. Guest rooms will offer unparalleled views of the mountain’s east-facing ski runs and Sun Valley’s unique topography. Hotel amenities will include a lively casual bar and grill, extensive fitness amenities, heated outdoor swimming pool and sun terrace, full-service spa and meeting facilities. Fourteen for-purchase luxury residences on the hotel’s upper floors, including six fourth-floor penthouses, will offer direct unobstructed views to the top of Bald and Dollar Mountains. Ranging from 1,750 square feet to 2,400 square feet in a single-level plan, the residences will be accessible by private elevator with exclusive two-car underground parking and storage and will offer full access to Auberge hotel services and amenities. The hotel, fully entitled by the City of Ketchum, has been designed by the renowned San Francisco-based hospitality architectural firm Hornberger + Worstell, AIA.

First developed in 1936, Sun Valley was the vision of W. Averell Harriman, then CEO of the Union Pacific Railroad, who sought to create an American version of the popular ski resorts in Switzerland and Austria. Following a nationwide search, Harriman selected Ketchum, Idaho, over locations in California, Utah and Colorado because of its accessible base elevation under

6,000 feet, exceptional natural terrain and snow conditions, year-round recreational activities, natural beauty and endless sun. Dubbed the “first instant million-dollar resort,” Sun Valley redefined skiing as resort recreation and introduced the concept of the ski resort as a social, four-season leisure destination. Ernest Hemingway and other noteworthy residents put Sun Valley on the map as a residential enclave for the rich and famous. Sun Valley’s rediscovery is underway, and it is rapidly becoming more accessible thanks to new direct non-stop regional air service from major metropolitan hubs. Home to a new Olympic and Paralympic training site, Sun Valley is scheduled to host the Alpine Ski Championships in 2016 and 2018.

The project is scheduled to break ground in late Spring, 2015 and welcome its first guests in the summer of 2017. Construction employment is anticipated to generate 100 full-time worker positions in the building cycle and upwards of 80 hotel jobs once opened. For more information on penthouse sales and residence sales , please contact Jack Bariteau at jack@waypointsunvalley.com or call (650) 906-5636.  For information or inquires concerning investment opportunities in Trail Creek Fund, please contact Garrison Belles at garrison@waypointsunvalley.com or (415) 637-1991.

Introducing VieVage: Auberge Resorts to debut new
hospitality brand in Napa Valley

MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (June 12, 2014) – Auberge Resorts, award-winning owner and operator of world-class luxury boutique hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs, today announced that it will manage a new resort and destination spa that will be developed on the site of the former Stanly Ranch in the Carneros district of Napa Valley. The project will be developed by Stanly Ranch Resort Napa, LLC. The 110-room resort, VieVage Napa Valley, will be the first developed under a new lifestyle hospitality brand and infused with the Auberge ethos. Created by the team behind some of North America’s most highly regarded resorts, the new VieVage concept will bring contemporary themes of design, community, locally sourced food, sustainability, fitness and wellness together in a fresh, active and social environment.

Just as Auberge Resorts redefined Napa Valley as a destination for leisure travelers with the launch of Auberge du Soleil, the region’s first five-star hotel, reinterpreted the beach and spa resort with Esperanza in Los Cabos, Mexico, reinvented the cabin-in-the-woods concept with Calistoga Ranch, introduced sustainability and Michelin-starred casual dining to Napa Valley with Solage Calistoga, and breathed new life into Aspen’s historic Hotel Jerome, the company will redefine the concept of the 21st century resort and the “New Napa” with the VieVage brand.

“Travelers today are seeking an experience that is creatively designed yet simple; relaxing yet social; regional yet timeless,” said Craig Reid, Chief Executive Officer, Auberge Resorts. “With VieVage, we will build on the successes of Auberge Resorts’ other unique hotels, resorts and residences to offer a product that is fresh and appealing for a broad variety of guests and a hospitality model that works in a variety of settings. It will be adaptable to resort and urban locations and residences, and it will complement our current hotels in select markets. We’re delighted to introduce both a new brand and a new chapter for Auberge Resorts.”

VieVage Napa Valley will be developed on 95 acres of the 712-acre Stanly Ranch, a historic and beloved piece of the California wine country. Bordered by vineyards, rolling hills and views of the Mayacamas Mountains, the resort will be characterized by contemporary cottage-style accommodations and an activated central “commons” featuring a casual restaurant and bar, a bakery, winery and outdoor gathering spaces that bring guests together around fire pits, barbeques, bocce and outdoor concerts. Clustered guest rooms will accommodate families and groups with private communal space, vineyards, gardens and bicycle and walking paths.

Shaped by its Napa Valley setting, the resort will have an overarching agricultural theme expressed through gardens and orchards, contemporary architecture inspired by the valley’s early farmstead buildings, environmentally minded infrastructure and engaging programs that invite guest participation in the cultivation and celebration of food and wine. An on-site winery will make the most of the Carneros district’s moderate climate and cool breezes that contribute to the regions acclaimed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals.

“I am excited by this new concept and what it will bring not only to Napa Valley, but also to the hotel industry,” said Mark Harmon, Founder and Managing Partner, Auberge Resorts. “VieVage will bring together the best of what we do with a beautiful simplicity and understated luxury. This concept will be social, fun, approachable, and it will celebrate the romance of connecting with family and friends. We have brought together an amazing team of partners to help us realize our vision. We look forward to introducing Auberge hospitality to a new generation of guests.”

The project is expected to break ground in early 2015 open in 2017.

(February 11, 2014) – Auberge Resorts today announced the partnership with Palais Namaskar, an Oetker Collection resort in Morocco, for three days of events in Napa Valley March 13-15, 2014, to celebrate the cultures and cuisines of both regions. Palais Namaskar’s culinary team, led by Executive Chef Antoine Perray, will collaborate with culinary extraordinaires Executive Chef Robert Curry of Michelin-starred Auberge du Soleil, Brandon Sharp, Michelin-starred Executive Chef of Solbar at Solage Calistoga, and Executive Chef Aaron Meneghelli at Calistoga Ranch in the three-day program, which will feature multi-course meals paired with Moroccan wines, hammam-style spa offerings, cooking demonstrations and culminate in a Morocco-meets-California gala.

“We felt a natural connection with the Palais Namaskar, a hotel that shares many of the characteristics as Auberge Resorts – impeccable service and five-star luxury, and we wanted to go beyond just bringing in a guest chef,” said John Washko, Vice President of Operations. “This culinary adventure plays perfectly in to our Food of Place initiative celebrating regional cuisines, and we know it will be a memorable way to kick off the season in Napa Valley.”

“It is an honor for us to be invited to Auberge Resorts to share our common passion for food,” said Laurent Branover, Directeur Général, Palais Namaskar. We truly look forward to introducing guests to Palais Namaskar’s Moroccan cuisine through this one-of-a-kind culinary experience in Napa Valley.”

Three Days of Food and Wine Events
Events begin on Thursday, March 13, 2014, with a Moroccan mezze reception at Auberge du Soleil. Kris Margerum, Wine Director for Auberge du Soleil, will pair wines from both regions for an elegant, five-course dinner featuring amuse bouche, a comfit-spiced pumpkin with duck liver emulsion, and spiced lamb saddle cooked with orange reduction, organic carrot and cumin puree. Michelin-starred Executive Chef Robert Curry and Palais Namaskar Chef Antoine Perry will prepare the unique menu, bringing the unique ingredients from Morocco to Northern California.

Day Two features an interactive cooking experience focusing on the Art of the Tagine with Chef Perray and Solage Calistoga Executive Chef Brandon Sharp, followed by a tasting presentation highlighting Moroccan wines. Guests will create their own tagine of marinated wild sea bass, chermoula and spring vegetables, to be finished by the culinary team and served for dinner in the Michelin-starred Solbar. Didier Pariente of Nomadic Distribution, an importer of Moroccan wines, will lead guests through a wine presentation and portfolio tasting of one of Morocco’s oldest and most awarded wineries, Domaine Ouled Thaleb, featuring selections of whites, rosés, and reds available in the U.S. Guests will receive their tagine, valued at $50, to take home, compliments of Le Creuset, along with a wine gift bag compliments of Domaine Ouled Thaleb. Didier Pariente of Nomadic Distribution will present Moroccan wines and give an overview of the viticultural history of the region, and guests will receive a gift bag including educational materials about Moroccan food and wine.

The final evening is the gala dinner mimicking an evening in Morocco in the Wine Cave at Calistoga Ranch, which will be transformed into a Moroccan tent complete with belly dancers, indigenous spices, argan oil and fresh vegetables from the area.  All four chefs will prepare dishes indigenous to Morocco and California such as chachouka, zaalouk, cheese and truffle briouat, orange blossom cucumber, cinnamon comfit tomatoes, and tafernout bread.

Complementing the culinary experiences, guests will have the opportunity to participate in other Moroccan themed activities at all three properties. Calistoga Ranch will offer belly dancing lessons on Saturday, March 15th. The property is also offering a six-step Moroccan Hammam Treatment in the Auberge Spa at Calistoga Ranch, beginning with a steam bath followed by the application of savon noir, a Moroccan natural black soap. After a head-to-toe exfoliation, a Moroccan Rhassoul clay mask will be applied along with natural rose water. A massage using Baladi soap with a dose of authentic Argan oil followed by a Moroccan tea experience on the relaxation deck concludes the experience. All guests staying at Calistoga Ranch will be given a departure gift of Moroccan salt scrub and a certificate to be used toward a future stay.

Each dining event is $150 per person, including tax and gratuities. Specially priced two- and three-day room packages will be available at Calistoga Ranch, Auberge Du Soleil and Solage Calistoga. All properties will feature a complimentary soak and steam experiences in their spas for guests attending one or more events. Complimentary transportation will be provided among all three properties. Auberge Resorts Voted Among the Best in the U.S. and Mexico by U.S. News & World Report

MILL VALLEY, Calif. (January 28, 2014) – Auberge Resorts properties have been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as among the very best in the U.S. and Mexico, the magazine announced today. Auberge du Soleil, Calistoga Ranch, Hotel Jerome, The Inn at Palmetto Bluff and Esperanza all received top rankings in the 2014 Best Hotels Awards. Solage Calistoga was voted one of the top 10 resorts in Napa Valley. Rankings are available online at http://travel.usnews.com/.

The 2014 Best Hotels Awards recognize hotels that were ranked based on an unbiased methodology that includes the collective opinion of travel experts and guests, expressed through online reviews and ratings.

“We are delighted that independently surveyed travelers and experts in the travel industry rated our resorts among the very best in their respective destinations,” said Mark Harmon, Managing Partner, Auberge Resorts. “Our goal is to deliver the best guest experience possible. It’s gratifying to see our properties once again rated the best in North America.”

“The 2014 Best Hotels were selected because they meet the highest standards of travel experts and guests alike,” said Miriam Weiner, travel editor for U.S. News. “These properties are renowned in the travel industry for their luxury amenities and quality customer service.”
To create this year’s rankings, U.S. News factored in the prominence of industry awards a hotel receives along with its reputation among travel experts and guests. In total, 1,693 U.S. hotels, 271 Caribbean hotels, 342 Mexican hotels and 223 Canadian hotels were evaluated for the 2014 rankings.

Hotels named “Best” in their destination are typically the properties that have ranked the top 30 percent of U.S. News-evaluated properties in that region. A smaller, more selective group of hotels that are ranked in the top 10 percent of all ranked luxury hotels in the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico or Canada received a “Best Hotels in the USA,” “Best Hotels in the Caribbean,” “Best Hotels in Mexico” or “Best Hotels in Canada” award, depending on their location.
