    Auberge Resorts Collection Announces Strategic Marketing Appointments

    Auberge Resorts Collection, owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs, announced today that Chris White has been appointed Senior Director, Regional Sales and Marketing. White joins the team to manage sales and marketing efforts for Esperanza, in Cabo San Lucas, Calistoga Ranch, in Napa Valley and Solage, recently acquired as the company’s third managed property in Napa Valley. In addition, Auberge announced the promotion of Mike Moran to Regional Sales Director. Moran will report to White and will oversee Group and Leisure Sales at Esperanza, Calistoga Ranch, Solage and Group Sales for our Los Cabos resort, Chileno Bay.

    Chris White brings to the team over 20 years of hospitality experience, working with resorts across world-class hospitality brands, including Hyatt Hotels Corp., Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels Limited, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and most recently KSL Resorts, where he served as Senior Director of Sales and Marketing for Monarch Beach Resort, in Dana Point, Calif. White began his hospitality career in Vancouver and has since lived and worked in Kauai, Calgary, Minneapolis, Whistler, Hawaii and Southern California.

    Mike Moran has served as Director of Sales and Marketing at our Napa resort, Calistoga Ranch for the past six years. Before joining Auberge Resorts Collection, he worked as Director of Sales and Marketing at Carmel Valley Ranch, in Carmel Valley, Calif. He also previously managed sales for all five hotels in Yosemite National Park and worked in corporate travel and meetings for American Express.

    Auberge Resorts Collection to Manage Newly Acquired Solage Resort in Napa Valley

    Auberge Resorts Collection, owner and operator of award-winning small luxury resorts, residences and clubs, today announced that the company will manage Solage, a contemporary resort located in the heart of California wine country, following the property’s recent acquisition by a joint venture formed between Flynn Properties and Auberge Resorts Collection. The resort returns to the Auberge portfolio as the company’s third managed property in Napa Valley.

Set to open December 2016, Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, formerly known as VieVage Los Cabos, is set amidst the prestigious 1,200-acre resort community of Chileno Bay, a Discovery Land Company development, comprised of a private beach club, Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole golf course, residences and more.

    Chileno Bay Resort & Residences will comprise 60 guest rooms ranging from 760 to 885 square feet of interior and exterior space, and 32 expansive two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas ranging from 3,300 to 4,500 square feet—featuring outdoor showers, terraces, indoor showers and soaking tubs, along with handcrafted furniture and accessories created by local artisans. Interior design finishes include marble flooring, artisan plaster walls, and intricately designed hand-made colorful tiles. Accommodations will feature an open concept with floor-to-ceiling windows and doors that open to ample private terraces. Ground-floor villas will all have private pools, while the upper-level villas will have Jacuzzis. All residential Los Cabos villas will be equipped with indoor-outdoor gourmet kitchens featuring Wolf and Subzero appliances, outdoor showers, and lush garden, pool or exquisite ocean views. Two three-bedroom Sky Villas will feature large private rooftop terraces with private pool, extended living area and bar. One six-bedroom villa will offer over 11,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor space, including 6.5 bathrooms, a private swimming pool, outdoor shower and views of the Sea of Cortez.

    Amenities at Chileno Bay Resort & Residences will include three culinary concepts including the resort’s signature restaurant, a breezy open-air space designed by Los Angeles-based Gulla Jonsdottir Architecture + Design, offering local, freshly caught seafood, raw bar and interactive ceviche bar. Here, guests will be able to enjoy sunset cocktails and panoramic ocean views from hanging chairs overlooking the beach or by fire pits at the water’s edge. A beachside taco bar will offer specialty tequilas in an interactive casual setting at the edge of the beach, while a poolside grill will serve lighter fare for lunch.

    A signature full-service spa will include 10 treatment rooms, a couples retreat room, a purification garden, a cool plunge pool, sauna and reflexology pool. An expansive Specialty Suite will be ideal for couples or an extended private treatment, and features an outdoor garden with its own plunge pool, private bathroom, and steam shower. All treatment rooms will feature private outdoor shower gardens.

    A waterfront “H20 cave” adjacent to Chileno Beach will host a myriad of local watersport activities from snorkeling and diving to standup paddle boarding and more. The Activity Center at the center of the resort houses the fitness center, movement studio, the “Pescaditos” Kids Club, private theater, and the Chileno Lounge, which will be open to guests throughout the day as a place to retreat and relax, read a book, watch a sporting event, or mingle with other guests. An artisanal market will provide guests grab-and-go gourmet products along with opportunities for hands-on culinary experiences such as chocolate tastings or cooking classes. Guests will also have access to championship golf and recreational activities nearby to round-out the local adventures.

    Chileno Bay Resort & Residences will also feature over 12,000 square feet of space for Los Cabos events and meetings, including a 7,800-square-foot Citrus and Herb Event Garden perfect for intimate weddings and private celebrations. For gatherings with one-of-a-kind views, Chileno Galleria offers 1,000 square-foot air conditioned private dining and meeting space with an adjacent 1,500 square-foot terrace and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Sea of Cortez.

    Auberge Resorts Collection Names Michael Minchin Chief Marketing Officer

    Auberge Resorts Collection, owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs, announced today that Michael Minchin has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer. Minchin will lead Auberge’s national and resort sales teams and oversee all brand marketing initiatives, including advertising, public relations, e-commerce and social media, for the award-winning resort company. He will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Craig Reid.

    “Michael has a proven track record in growing businesses and leading high-performing teams to unprecedented success,” said Reid. “We are excited to have him join our senior team. His experience will prove invaluable as we continue on our growth trajectory.”

    With more than 30 years of experience leading global teams for major brands in the hotel, residential, restaurant, spirits and automotive industries, Minchin brings extensive marketing, brand management and sales expertise to his new role. Before joining Auberge, he spent 11 years at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, most recently as Senior Vice President of Marketing. There, he was responsible for the global marketing, distribution and revenue management efforts that contributed to the company’s sales growth across a portfolio of almost 100 hotels in over 40 countries.

    Prior to that, Minchin was Director of Marketing at Cara Operations, in Canada, where he led strategic planning and marketing for the Harvey’s Hamburger chain. He served as Vice President of Marketing for Corby Distilleries Ltd., where he helped to grow market share and create some of the fastest- growing spirits brands in Canada. At Allied Domecq Spirits & Wines in the U.K., Minchin developed the global brand strategies that grew premium brands, including Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Laphroaig Single Malt Scotch. Earlier in his career, Minchin led the U.S. automotive advertising accounts for Acura as Vice President, Management Supervisor at Ketchum, Los Angeles. He began his career as an account executive at Saatchi & Saatchi, Torrance, Calif.

    Minchin has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif.

    Auberge Resorts Collection Appoints Richard Arnold Chief Development Officer

    Auberge Resorts Collection, owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, award-winning resorts, residences and private clubs, announced today that Richard Arnold will join the company as Chief Development Officer. In his new role, Arnold will work alongside Chief Executive Officer Craig Reid and the management team to lead the Auberge Resorts Collection growth strategy. His responsibilities will include identifying, negotiating, and securing all development projects, including new construction, conversions, expansions, and acquisitions.

    “It is an exciting time for Auberge as we expand with several new projects on the horizon,” said Reid. “Richard has an impressive track record in hotel development both in the Americas and in Europe, and his experience will prove invaluable as we continue on our growth trajectory.”

    Arnold joins Auberge Resorts Collection with extensive hospitality acquisition and development experience. In 2015, Arnold co-founded Kadenwood Partners, a real-estate investment, capital advisory, and asset management firm focused on the luxury hotel, residential, and mixed-use property sectors. Prior to Kadenwood Partners, Arnold served as Vice President, Worldwide Development at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. While there, he was responsible for sourcing and securing new growth opportunities for the brand on a global basis. In his role, he focused on strategic transactions, special situations, and identifying capital and development partners.

    Prior to joining Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Arnold held roles with PKF Consulting where he specialized in project feasibility, valuations, asset strategy, and advisory services and at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts where he worked in Operations Finance.

    Arnold holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Hotel and Food Administration with a focus on Real Estate Finance from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Hotel Development Council.

    Forbes Travel Guide 2016 Awards Auberge du Soleil and Esperanza, an Auberge Resort, with Five Star Ratings

    Auberge du Soleil Once Again Rated Only Five-Star Hotel in Napa Valley; Esperanza Joins Elite Five-Star List for First Time

    MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (February 23, 2016) – Auberge Resort Collection, owner and operator of boutique operator of boutique luxury hotels, award-winning resorts, residences and private clubs, announced today that two of its iconic resorts, Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley and Esperanza, An Auberge Resort in Los Cabos have been awarded Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotels for 2016. With the announcement, Auberge du Soleil remains the only Five-Star rated hotel in Napa Valley, while Esperanza for the first time becomes a part of the elite group of 154 Five-Star hotels in the world, and is one of only two Cabo hotels to receive this prestigious Five-Star award. Forbes Travel Guide rated 1,262 properties for its 2016 announcement, which included rating Los Cabos properties for the first time since its inception in 1958.

    The Five-Star award is bestowed to properties that meet the most stringent and comprehensive hospitality standards in the industry set forth by Forbes’ professional and anonymous inspectors with rigorous testing against up to 800 objective standards that examine every aspect of the property experience. The select group of hotels are noted for “virtually flawless service and the finest of amenities … a destination unto itself” according to Forbes.
